Among those provisions that could be voided by union bosses if Amendment 1 passes: Illinois Compiled Statutes Section 21B-15, which prohibits anyone from being licensed to teach who has committed a sex offense; and Section 21B-75, which allows the State Superintendent of Education to suspend or revoke a teaching license for things such as abuse or neglect of a child, incompetency or unprofessional conduct.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
