4 Chicago hospitals scrap tentative $1.1B merger plan – AP Chicago

The hospitals asked the Legislature for $110 million for fiscal year 2021 and a total of $520 million over five years to offset losses as they created the system and built a hospital. Instead, the legislation created an annual pool of $150 million for hospitals across the state for fiscal years 2021 through 2023. The money won’t be distributed until lawmakers create criteria for providing funds.
