63 former state lawmakers receiving more than $100K pensions – Illinois Policy

Retired lawmakers draw from the General Assembly Retirement System. Lawmakers have shorted their own system so much that it only has 16 cents of every $1 it needs – the biggest gap of the five statewide public pensions systems.

The baseline in Illinois is the household income of your typical family paying income, and property tax. From time to time I know it’s been published how large the gap has gotten between your public employee and the private employee. Now that Pritzker single-handily crashed a weak Illinois economy, it would be good to see an update soon prior to his request for a massive tax increase.

Some of those Illinois State Legislators became lobbyists or moved to other governmental offices. ?

State Senator William Shaw was still Dolton Mayor, when he list to James Meeks. ?

State Earlean Collins moved to Cook County Commissioner (1999-2014). Her Senate seat went to Kimberly Lightford. ?

Cops, Teachers, Fireman and Law makers all screw over the honest hard working taxpayer.
Only answer is to LEAVE ASAP. Kiss Illinois and its screw job good bye.
Lots of other places offer a far better opportunities. Your family will thank you for generations too come. Let they only people left in Illinois be the very poor and the greedy government employee.
