Dallas Police Chief David Brown briefs the media about a shooting at Dallas Police headquarters. Brown was the obvious frontrunner — and the recommended choice of Police Board President Ghian Foreman — after the board announced a list of three finalists.

“I have every confidence that David O’Neal Brown will be the kind of leader who will continue our gains in fighting crime. Bridge existing divides between police and community. Embrace constitutional policing as a core ethos. And make the Chicago Police Department the finest in the nation,” Lightfoot said.

When you can stand there with a straight face and say this…you know we are in for a very long, very hard road. Exactly what gains ? Is there and media left that can even ask a single important question such as this ?
