Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Here’s the thing Pritzker doesn’t seem to understand, you can have all the ventilators in the world, but if you do not have qualified people, namely respiratory therapist your dead in the water. These are highly trained people, I just wonder how many are certified in Illinois
where are all graduates being cranked out with medical technology certificates/ licenses at City Colleges? with all the city/ taxpayer $ being spent on medical training at city colleges?
You need physicians and APPs for this. Respiratory therapists are very talented with vents but they can’t intubate or prescribe sedation
This crains articale from yesterday states there are currently 41% empty hospital beds & 29% empty icu beds state wide. A little above average. Makes you wonder. https://www.chicagobusiness.com/greg-hinz-politics/if-you-go-out-wear-mask-pritzker
