Pritzker Announces Illinois Schools Will Remain Closed for Rest of School Year – NBC5 (Chicago)

The Illinois Education Association President Kathi Griffin said the group supports Pritzker's decision: "We believe it is the right move to ensure the safety of our students, our educators and our communities."

Any predictions on what angle the CTU will take to ask for more money because of this and how long before they ask.

Gates from the Union was on TV last night demanding the empty hotels be used to house students through the end of the school year because the buildings have wi-fi. I’m not kidding.

He did this for a money grab, only reason, hey teachers and administrators how about a 10% return on your salaries to the state or local municipalities. Remember we’re all in this together, hey mates

Nice, good job Pritzker so now I want to know we’re is my property tax refund for the school district portion of my tax bill. This could be one that the courts may have to look at. Lawsuits possibly coming on this one?. Any thoughts on this

No lawsuit that will have any merit. Teachers are still being paid and are teaching through e-learning. This is considered an act of God and per their contract they will be paid. No savings there. The buildings are still there and need to be maintained. No savings other than possibly utilities. Not sure where you think any refund that would be available.

Of course. Spoken like a true, smug, “all about the kids”, school district employee or teacher. “Just keep paying chumps” because our contract says so. “Teaching through e-learning. “, What a joke. Emailing home work to parents, who have to try and teach their children at home, then they email the completed home work back to the teachers who likely have an automated system that scores it.
