Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Maybe someone can hand him a copy of the Insurrection Act? Unlike Pritzker’s abuses of authority, Trump is on pretty solid ground to send in the troops if Jabba can’t handle the problem.
There’s a saying; control the language control the conversation. Right now, the protesters are being manipulated and told its about racism. Ask yourself what’s the root of racism and you’ll find the truth; its economic inequality. Ask yourself who pays their taxes without the loopholes, trust funds, offshore tax havens and all the tricks that have been designed and incorporated into the thousands of pages of tax code to avoid paying their fair share back into the community.
