Widespread looting overshadows peaceful protests in Chicago and beyond, as Gov. J.B. Pritzker battles President Donald Trump – Chicago Tribune

Pritzker appeared on CNN as the scene unfolded and condemned Trump’s actions. “I reject the notion that the federal government can send troops into the state of Illinois. The fact is that the president has created an incendiary moment here,” Pritzker said, calling such a move illegal and a distraction from the president’s “miserable failure” over the coronavirus.

I’m listening to her press conference now. She has lost control… she spends time whining about Trump’s reelection instead of focusing on the city burning. She’s lost control, it’s mob rule. Gangs are protecting their own neighborhoods, buses are being stolen by looters, downtown is under martial law, they admit they can’t safeguard passengers or employees of the CTA; light rail into Chicago from the suburbs is terminated. The suburbs have gone militarized to protect themselves from the urban mob. She’s lost control, resign now Lori, resign now. You are pathetic, your own voters, your own population is destroying your… Read more »

Maybe someone can hand him a copy of the Insurrection Act? Unlike Pritzker’s abuses of authority, Trump is on pretty solid ground to send in the troops if Jabba can’t handle the problem.

There’s a saying; control the language control the conversation. Right now, the protesters are being manipulated and told its about racism. Ask yourself what’s the root of racism and you’ll find the truth; its economic inequality. Ask yourself who pays their taxes without the loopholes, trust funds, offshore tax havens and all the tricks that have been designed and incorporated into the thousands of pages of tax code to avoid paying their fair share back into the community. Think about that. Then think about your local small community businesses who pay their taxes, support your food banks, churches, park district programs,… Read more »

That’s certainly one aspect of it. But the other aspect is that black america, by voting democrat, stupidly splits half their share of the pie with the illegal immigrant and hispanic community that supports illegal immigration.

for nearly 90 years the city of Chicago has been run by democrat mayors. Long before Daley’s public housing projects that sheltered a multitude of citizens. Falling into the trap of defining citizens and residents by their melatonin and political leanings is once again redirecting the conversation away from the root of the problem. It’s not the color of your skin, its who controls the greenback that controls failures or successes of a society.   “All the perplexities, confusion and distress in America arise, not from defects in their Constitution or Confederation, not from want of honor or virtue, so… Read more »

Maybe next time JB can tell CNN all about his state budget that relies on billions of dollars of federal funds.

How about JB’s large shadow on CNN blaming Trump for all of the Democrat looters destroying Democrat neighborhoods in Democrat cities. None of my neighbors are in Democrat Chicago protesting a Democrat cause.

You would think that after 100 years, yes, 100 years, Democrats in Chicago would get it right.

And they haven’t.

Pritzker you are a miserable failure, all you did when you were fraudulently elected was raise taxes, hand out multiple pay raises that the state cannot afford, spend your money illegally on staff pay raises, your Springfield army of thieves, liars etc. You chuckles the clown are the carnival barker, maybe it’s time to descend on Springfield all let you know all illnoisians have had it with everyone of you. PRIZTKER YOU ARE A TOTAL FAILURE

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
