A Federal Judge Is Collecting Stories Of Alleged Police Abuse During Chicago Protests – WBEZ (Chicago)

“The times that I felt the most unsafe were the times that I was around the police,” Michael Kaiser-Nyman told Judge Robert Dow. “I never felt unsafe around any of the other protesters.” 540 people signed up to speak during the two-day listening session, but they limited the number of speakers to 95 over two days.

Are these the best examples of abuse they could come up with. That’s great that one got dragged through horse poop.

Are these domestic terrorists giving testimony under oath or is the judge collecting second-hand stories, rumors, innuendo and outright lies? What evidence are the domestic terrorists providing? Is CPD allowed to testify and cross examine the accusers? Will the lies being told by the terrorists be used for disciplining or firing officers? This smells like an illegal extrajudicial lynching to me

What a bunch of crybabies and whiners. The cop was mean to me when I gave him the finger and spit at him. I was so afraid I almost dropped my Molotov cocktail. When I tried to run away I dropped the brick I just happened to have in my back pack. I was so thirsty after my frozen water bottle flew out of my hand. And my new umbrella I was carrying (which blocked police surveillance drones) to shade me from the sun got ruined.

Well how about you become a police officer Michael Kaiser-Nyman and see how you react after people throw frozen eggs, frozen water bottles, jab you with umbrellas, yell and scream at you for months on end, shoot fireworks at you, etc.

How many of these cops are suffering from PTSD after months of this crap.

Perhaps Mayor Lightfoot would like to create a safe space for the police.

The protestors can’t harrass the cops in their safe space.

The lack of respect for police is out of control.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
