Since Oct. 30, when Gov. J.B. Pritzker suspended indoor dining and drinking in Chicago, city inspectors conducted 877 investigations and issued 20 citations and 54 notices to correct to bars, restaurants and other businesses for violating those rules. The city has issued one-day closure orders to nine businesses, four of which were also issued long-term closure orders for “egregiously violating the COVID-19 regulations."
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
