Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. “It’s the heart of this city and it’s the money of this city. It takes money to equal the playing field,” Pfleger said, adding that residents in the high-rent areas have more influence than those on the South and West sides of the city and could help.” Residents on the South and West sides of the city do have a lot of influence. whether you agree with Father Fleger or not, his approach is not going to be effective. Until affluent peple feel their personal self interest threatened, they will not act. Sitting on the Dan Ryan for a few hours on a Saturday is pointless, camping in a park in downtown Winnetka until you are removed might send a better message. Rev take up less space on the chyron than Father, so there’s more room for his name
Maybe the “Reverend” Pfleger should focus on the criminals doing the shooting instead of on affluent people who aren’t pulling triggers
That would take logic and reason, something the holy rollers, liberals and socialists lack. But dont underestimate them, apparently about 50% of the population lacks it too which is why these shysters are so successful at manipulating the “sheeple”.
