Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Governor Pritzker, The decision by the state and essentially yourself to include those incarcerated in Illinois prisons in category 1b is immoral, absurd, and absolutely wrong headed! Truthfully, I can’t list enough adjectives to describe my disgust with this decision. That the state would mandate that inmates are at the same risk level as my wife of 52 years and 80 year of age, is on its face no less than ridiculous. The reality is that Blue Illinois is a coalition of special interest groups feeding off the state, as opposed to Red Illinois, which is basically the taxpayers. JB isn’t worried about losing the election, he’s worried about being primaried, because he knows that the vote counters in the bluest parts of the state will NEVER again allow a Republican to win statewide office, ever again.
