Wow, what an odd way to state the value of Bail. I guess I am not “woke” enough to understand how requiring people to put up money to guarantee their return to court is wrong. And if they can’t pay, they stay in jail. People make thier own decisions and sometime those are bad decisions, but law abiding society shouldn’t have to feel fear full at every turn to allow criminals back out onto the streets. Lavelle Mayes was charged with Aggravated Battery of a Senior Citizen after fighting with her 67 yr old mother who was then hospitalized following the beating.

Another article at CWBCHICAGO.COM about a wonderful member of the community out on 3 separate felony cases on low bail bonds and who just killed a 12yr old in a DUI case where he was 5 times over the limit. No bail, low bail really works.

“Wealth based”= nice play on terminology from “cash bail.” Only those with jobs or savings (responsible citizens) need to obey laws. Bye bye Illinois. Sugar coated crap.

Notably missing from the article was what crime was she charged with? $250K bond I guarantee it wasnt for a parking ticket.
