Today’s Wall Street Journal has an editorial about the unemployment fraud in California. The common thread in all of this is that it is Trump’s fault for asking the States to enforce their own laws.

My experience, fwiw: Fraudulent claims were filed in my name in two states, Illinois and Kentucky. Illinois had a process in place for me to tell them that the claim was fraudulent, and notified me that my benefit would amount to zero dollars. Kentucky said I am entitled to $569/week. Their letter provided an email address which is invalid. Their web site offers a phone number which is unable to take messages due to “high call volume.” Their site also has a banner “click here to report unemployment insurance fraud,” which is a 404/not found. What do we expect when we elected a governor who pulled a toilet out of his house to lower his property tax bill. He obviously likes his fraud. The rest of the state is not run by people with solid experience, but by people with connections. And voters seem to like this setup. They don’t worry. Illegit Joe will bail them out.
