Legislation aims to shed light on Illinois transportation projects – Center Square

Over the next six years, IDOT is planning to improve more than 3,300 miles of highway and 8.4 million square feet of bridge deck. During the first year, $2.7 billion of improvements included over 1,700 miles of highway and 128 bridges along with 228 additional safety improvements. Sen. Ram Villivalam, chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, said IDOT needs to explain how they are prioritizing their projects.
