Gov. Pritzker says Plainfield Republican Rep. Mark Batinick made a persuasive argument about imposing a mask mandate. "That may not have been politically advantageous for him to be so public about it, but I think we have all learned the mask mandate is the most important thing that we've done and is probably the single thing that has kept the most people healthy and alive."
“[Pritzker] says Plainfield Republican Rep. Mark Batinick made a persuasive argument to him about imposing a mandate.”
Nonsense, he was always going to impose a mask mandate just as every other blue state has a mask mandate. No Republican convinced him to do that. This is a political hit job to make Batinick look bad to his constituency… And the studies shows that masks are mostly ineffective and the burden of wearing them outweighs any possible benefit.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
