The Illinois Senate has added to the call for the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) to waive spring assessments, such as the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT), for students, as it did in 2020.
Don’t these teachers want the test results to back up all their bragging on how hard they have been working? Let’s see the test results and start cleaning house with ineffective administrators and teachers.

Here’s a link to the data from the 2019 statewide SATs. There’s some really interesting tidbits in there. https://reports.collegeboard.org/pdf/2019-illinois-sat-suite-assessments-annual-report.pdf ~44% the test takers were white, 13% Black, 25% Hispanic, and 5% were Asian. The SAT is required for graduation so its likely reflective of the overall high school demographics statewide. ~5% of all students in teh state scored above a 1,400, the highest test score range, but no Black students scored above a 1,400 on their SAT, 0%. Yes, the link says “0%”. For hispanics, its 1%. But 20% of all Asians and 7% of all whites scored above 1,400.… Read more »
