The organizers are also in favor of abolishing the police department, but said they called for a 25 percent reallocation as a starting point, using the vote of this nonbinding referendum to put pressure on the administration and board of trustees.

The turnout was 4K, but not mentioned in the article, the undergrad enrollment is over 30k and total enrollment is over 50k.

Believe but not sure that all those numbers are for UIUC, not including UIC and UIS.
