“Speaker Welch asked me to take on this issue: looking at various statues and coming back with recommendations as to which should go and which should stay,” said task force chair state Rep. Mary Flowers. “History matters — there’s been some problems in American history. For those statues that represent a person who has done harm, a decision should be made as to whether it should stand or fall … It’s time for us to get history straight as we know it … and erect new statues.”
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Get History straight? This should be really interesting to watch unfold
