Use Federal Relief Funds to Prevent Violence This Summer: Aldermen, Advocates – WTTW (Chicago)

Through the first four months of 2021, the surge in violence that began in 2020 has shown no significant sign of slowing down, according to police data. Through April 30, 997 people have been shot in 2021, an increase of 39% as compared with 2020. In addition, 187 people have been murdered in Chicago, a 20% increase as compared with the same period a year ago.

Another violence prevention waste of money. How many times has the prevent violence window been opened and cash thrown out of it with no results? Let’s do it again. Until the community of violence gets it act together nothing will change Sadly, it’s been going on for decades, never improving only getting worse. With the current Cook County states attorney pushing the restorative justice bs and not prosecuting violent criminals because of previous systemic racism claims violent crime is on the rise. 2021 is going to be spectacular in the sense of blood and guts.
