Chicago mayor: Reporters of color get 2-year mark interviews – AP Chicago

“The press corps is the filter through which much of what we do in government is dissected and explained to the public,” Lightfoot wrote. “And yet despite the many talents and skills of our reporting corps, I fear this arm of our democratic system is on life support. The Chicago media leadership must evolve with the times in order to be a true reflection of the vibrant, vast diversity of our city.”

The left apparently believes they are now firmly in control, so that they no longer try to hide who and what they are.
Lightfoot, AOC, Omar, Tlaib proudly state their true beliefs, all of which would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. They no longer fear scandals, accusations of hypocrisy or corruption (Cuomo, Biden).
They are fully revealing their ugly souls.

Chicago is lost…. Let it go. But Lori sends her kids to a elite private, 98% all white school.
She is a joke.
Lori- How about the unacceptable crime rate in your city. No worries.

I wonder what would happen if all of the Cops, Firemen, Paramedics and Ambo drivers all said that they were sick and tired of always responding to black people’s problems…

They are only going to respond to White and Asian peoples problems…

What’s the tab for the fortune that the city spends on patching up gunshot victims.?Oh, I forgot, money doesn’t matter because it grows on trees.

How does this help diversity? It rewards a chosen few based on their skin color. It incentivizes the chosen few to remain just that – a few. Moreover, the narrative she relates to these reporters is likely going to be so lacking in substance the excluded journalists won’t be missing out on much – again – no incentive to diversify. Lightfoot is pandering to identity groups, hardly unusual when it comes to politics but typically panderers are not so brazen.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
