Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Busted indeed. What a hack and hypocrite. I took my daughter to Orland Park Mall today. No masks on us. The Gestapo Mask Police at the door in American Eagle, Pacsun and Sephora quoted “Company Policy” and asked us to wear masks. We politely said no. AE asked us to leave, which we did although my daughter was about to purchase some $70 jeans. We left them there. Both Pacsun and Sephora allowed us to shop as normal.
