Tim Butler, who serves on the House Redistricting Committee, said he had no notice of the court maps being released Tuesday. “I have asked repeatedly…if the majority planned to redistrict the Supreme Court. I never once got a response to that. I think this discussion of transparency and engagement, especially with the minority party, just goes straight out the window."
Why even bother having a legislature? Why not just let a couple of Democrats just make all the rules? Everything passes, there never a chance for the minority party to have any say in anything. Politics is hardball but these people in Springfield are clearly not there for the people.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
