Casino plans advance in Rockford – Center Square

It’s been nearly 20 months since Rockford officials submitted their proposal for the casino to the Board. Said state Sen. Dave Syverson, “Not only have costs gone up, but the city and the state have lost millions of dollars because of the Gaming Board’s slow-moving and delays to get something approved.”

When you don’t want to continue gouging the taxpayer and when all else fails, generate revenue from a casino. The poor get poorer, since many lower-income people gamble. It’s sad to see Rockford continue its downward slide.
