Among the 31 campuses deciding to reduce their in-school police force, seven have voted to fully remove officers. The remaining 24 have voted to retain one of two officers this coming year and use the savings from the force reduction for programs such as social workers and private security.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
