Illinois teachers struggled most with the Language and Literacy test, ranging from 51% passed to 94% depending on the institution.

It would be interesting to know why people want to get into teaching. From these results it’s not love of academics or learning. More likely (but speculation) is long vacations, great benefits, early retirement and other perceptions.

Teachers complain all the time about low pay, terrible benefits, horrible students and uncaring administrators.
They only care about indoctrination.
