The Chicago Teachers Union is in negotiations with the district over health and safety measures for the fall and had pushed for universal masking to stay in place. The union’s initial proposal also included an 80% student vaccination goal.

Authoritarians are only happy when serfs bow in total sublimation to kiss their feet. What’s new is that free people are not decisively fighting back. Give Little Napoleons this inch and they will take it all.

just watch as CTU has a field day filing grievances, lawsuits and claiming unsafe work conditions that demand HAZARD PAY. Also watch parents/students flee. A complete mess

The CTU is getting ready to go remote and the minority students will be running wild committing crimes like last year.

Parents need to sue…

There are studies showing the health risks of wearing the masks for extended periods, from excess co2, to harmful bacteria formation…

Teachers should make OSHA complaints for the same reasons…

The longer the suit lasts, the more appeals that are filed, the greater the hits on the school budget and the ultimate cost is borne by the taxpayers. Does anyone disagree? Organized opposition at the ballot box to put new board members into office will take months and not all resident taxpayers will go along with that strategy. Increasingly, I think of… Read more »

Begs the question: Why get vaccinated if you’re still going to have to wear a mask?

This is hilarious! Porky is going to LaLa because he says it’s safe if you’re vaccinated! CPS demands masks regardless of vaccination status. Who will be the enforcement arm of CPS? The cops won’t be there. Is this an over abundance of caution or simple capitulation to CTU.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
