Pritzker could have used the independence that comes with bankrolling his own campaign to govern as a pro-business, centrist Democrat looking to spur economic growth so that his state could meet its liabilities and retain its tax base. Instead, he has continued down the path of high taxes and union control that will send even more citizens packing for other states. California and New York have more space for bad governance because they can afford to live off the capital of Silicon Valley and Wall Street; with no comparably powerful economic engine, Illinois is already in dire straits. In Pritzker, Illinois has an amateur governor—one happy to use his inherited millions to scare off opposition while he accelerates the state’s already rapid decline.

Everything that JB does is with an eye toward the 2024 Presidential election. Pritzker saw what Bloomberg did in 2020. He reasons (if what happens within his tiny mind can be called reasoning) that since JB has even more money than Bloomberg then he too can run for President. And since JB is richer than Bloomberg then he can win where Bloomberg failed. His goal is to become a national Democrat Propaganda media darling by absurd government largess (paid for by the IL taxpayers) and supporting excessively outlandish Democrat programs and policy dreams. He will clam to have ‘turned-around’ Illinois… Read more »

He has delusions of grandeur if he thinks he’s going to win any early primaries.

The only thing about his stay-puffed-ness that is grand… Well, no need to state the obvious….

Its very strange he’s passed 100% of public sec unions bills. Illinois a one party state. He has zero opposition to getting reelected…..maybe the machines got something on him? Secret tapes or something?

Because he knows that in a mid-term election year, Republicans can win state wide offices. At least in the past before the voter fraud.

Pritzker is Governor thanks to “daddy’s money” that could be applied to numerous Illinois politicians of both parties. He now gives in to the unions and the free stuff army that has a sizeable voting base in Illinois considering the amount of people that do not care to vote in Illinois elections that, more or less, vote for Pritzker by not voting against him.

Excellent summary. It’s too bad there are not enough Illinois voters left to see through JB’s bluster. Unfortunately, more and more I hear people say ‘I’m outta’ here’ rather than ‘Let’s fix this.’

Man, this article really nails it. I’ve wondered why Pritzker went through the expense and hassle of running for governor, only to become a public union rubber stamp. He’s already got billions, so he doesn’t need the graft. As the article pointed out, he could have easily been independent, and really elevated himself as a guy who knows how to lead. He could have had everyone licking his feet. But instead he has decided to just do what the public unions tell him to do — and big time. Amateur hour. The guy doesn’t even get along with much of… Read more »

Dont let the Wokesters at Northwestern know that they have a rational, non-biased journalist in their midst. They will doxx him and cancel him for daring to stray from the lockstep (goosestep?) Democrat Propaganda narrative. At a minimum he will end up in a reeducation camp; worst case without a job and in a Gulag.

I don’t think that it is that complicated. JB is simply very stupid and very rich.

I once read somewhere in the internet that JB’s political career is basically a family feud as the siblings all try to out do each other.

There are no centrist Democraps. Wake up folks

Edit: Local Democraps are just rubber stamps for what is going on federally.

It’s clear Pritzker see’s himself on a national stage, so he keeps trying to ‘one-up’ his radical Democrat ways to get the attention and hopefully favor of Obama and the DNC crime bosses.

I wonder if he was invited to Obama’s birthday super spreader on Martha’s Vineyard.
I read somewhere that if you can’t show proof of vaxx, you can write a check in lieu of proof…./s

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
