Officially, the city has 2,746,388 people; It still lags behind its 2000 population of nearly 2.9 million. As expected, Illinois’ population declined, with 18,124 fewer residents than it had in 2010. Its population stands at 12,812,508.
The census results are so inaccurate it is ridiculous. There was such an emphasis to count any person they could in Cook County in the 2020 census that comparison to 2010 is meaningless. JB gamed the system, just like he did when he ripped out his toilets to evade real estate taxes. The whole thing is a joke.

The strong parts of the state are growing. Rockford, Aurora, Springfield and Peoria all declining. All of these places are more affordable than Chicago, yet they declined while Chicago increased. Apparently the economic center of the state is doing just fine and it’s the hillbilly areas that need to address their population loss.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Illinois and Chicago are screwd!
