Not only does Illinois want to eliminate a GOP district Washington wants to eliminate the GOP in its entirety and have a one party rule.

Let’s be honest. Is the really any Republicans left in Illinois?

There are millions of us. But we have been gerrymandered out of existence. California has more Republicans than any other state in the Union but they barely have any Republican presence anywhere in the state due to gerrymandering. I know CA is a supposedly non-partisan commission state but they still gerrymander and but D’s lie and say “hey, we have non-partisan commission that gerrymanders in our favor! dont’ blame us!”

I like how it points out that all five Republican districts lost population.

Was there any Democrat district that failed to lose population?

I have no doubt it will be a 14(D)-3(R) map with two of the three R districts being toss ups (or close enough that fraud could make a difference to give a D the win). Completely and utterly undemocratic, of course, but gerrymandering is only bad when THE OTHER GUYS do it.

That’s why its imperative to leave Illinois.
Less house seats=less ability to Gerrymander.
The 2030 census can be really painful for Illinois if people do their part.

Then all house remaining 14 or 15 house seats will go Democrat.

That’s a false assumption.
If Chicago starts bleeding serious population then Democrats won’t have a choice but to retire one of their house members.
We have 10 years to push Chicagoland population down. The pandemic is doing part of it along with the spike in homicides but only by encouraging more people to leave Illinois can we accomplish the goal of shrinking Chicagolands house delegation.

What difference does it make if it is 14-3 or 14-0?

Those 3 R’s in DC is the difference, right now, between R and D control of the house of representatives.

Presumably those three Rs would move to another Red state and that state would increase its number of representatives. It’s not as though those republicans leaving Illinois will jump in the ocean and drown themselves.

This is not difficult to understand.

Also there is not much difference between Frank Luntz’s, errr, roommate and Princess Pelosi.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
