Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Rahm is a scumbag. He was chief architect of the Obama Abomination. He deserves nothing, and certainly not an Ambassadorship. He can rot in hell, and the sooner the better.
This is the first time I have ever agreed with AOC on anything. Even a poorly educated, blindingly liberal, inexperienced bigmouth knows Rahm is no good. But you know, she could pick off a half dozen or more female and phony woke Dem senators, and add them to the Repub votes and maybe block Rahm. We’ll see.

I liked Rahm, he was decent, it’s too bad he has to play the hyper-partisan bit do the Republicans want to kill your children thing. But these days his politics is closer to Republicans than it is to progressives.
Perhaps AOC will recommend that Rahm Emanuel be replaced with Lori Lightfoot as the US ambassador to Japan.
While she is at it, perhaps AOC will suggest a commission to study how the US can avoid the stagflation that has plagued Japan since the early 1990’s.
