Illinois House committee advances revamped energy plan — with subsidies to ComEd parent — that will cost average customer about $4.50 a month – Chicago Tribune*
Illinois House Democrats and Gov. J.B. Pritzker appear to have reached agreement on an energy policy that would set a path to a carbon-free future while also putting customers on the hook for a nearly $700 million bailout of scandal-plagued Commonwealth Edison’s parent company.
Quite a win win for the Illinois Democrats here. Not only will they get the unions behind them but shutting down the coal plants will create permanent job losses at the coal fired plants and for the southern Illinois miners as well making two new classes of individuals that will be dependant on welfare to live. Who would have thought 20 yerars ago it would come to this?

Well this solves everything! Until ConEd comes back in five years with more extortion demands and Illinois caves in again. My advice is for anyone that can, they should try not to be in Illinois in five years.

So we get to pay 700 million, to keep two nuclear power plants running, which in return we get to buy electric from. Did we just do this in 2016? for 200 million. Wow why can not just buy the power plants ? And give the electricity away for free ?How much are we to pay for windmills and solar panels and not own them? No pill to fix stupid I guess.
It’s not stupid. It’s calculated to benefit their cronies. Once again the people pay. Only so much one can handle in this state.

Whooo Whoo! We’re gonna be carbon free! What a jag load! I don’t mind keeping power plants open, nor do you! Hey Porky just lay it on the line! We can take bad news if it’s sensible.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
