2 words – Lori Lightfoot. She has bungled many things being mayor. Allowed monuments to be torn down. Won’t let police do their jobs. Until she is voted out of office it will get worse. And yes, Illinois can survive just fine without Chicago.

I see it differently – she’s created a progressive utopian dream. BIPOC (and whites) are free from the chains and bond of…criminal law, and now everyone can achieve their dreams w/o the fear of a systemically racist criminal justice system holding them back. She emptied out downtown in the name of coronavirus and now everyone is safe working at home. She’s got equity programs here, equity programs there, equity everywhere! Bogleheads blog-site forum has post asking “is Chicago safe to visit?”. Responding comments were indicative of how uninformed, and ill-informed, people really are. Lots of responding posts claim downtown Chicago is “back to normal” and that “crime is overstated in press”.
