Column: Rahm Emanuel Shows He’s No Ambassador Of Truth At Senate Hearing – Patch Chicago

Mark Konkol: "Before (Sen. Jeff) Merkley's allotted time to question Emanuel expired Wednesday, the Oregon Democrat mentioned a letter from Chicago public officials calling for the Senate to reject the former mayor's appointment — and expressed disbelief that Emanuel was actually clueless about details of Laquan's murder and efforts to keep video of the teen's death secret for as long as the former mayor claims."

If I were a Japanese citizen, I’d be insulted that USA intends to send Rahm as its ambassador. Rahm is incapable of conducting himself in a civil and polite manner with other people, while Japanese culture deeply values civility and politeness in interpersonal relations, and abhors that rudeness, incivility, abrasiveness, and sharp-elbowed nature of Rahm’s personality. His appointment is frankly a F-U to Japan.

The woke Dems should be throwing rocks at Rahm, not considering him for ambassador. He delayed the BLM movement by several years by hiding the McDonald kid’s death. Saint Floyd would still be alive if Rahm hadn’t put his own interests ahead of the general public.

One must assume the Japanese are following this closely. They’ll send the Yakuza to chop off his remaining fingers. The little gonif!

The evasive answers shouldn’t surprise anyone. He was dishonest from the day he came to Chicago to raise money for Rich Daley in the mid-1980’s. Almost everyone who knows him well lists him in their top three biggest a—h— of all time.

Maybe he should be appointed. That keeps him 6,347 miles from Chicago and then Godzilla will take care of him. Squish!!

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
