Here is an IDNR description of a gravel prairie. https://www2.illinois.gov/dnr/education/Pages/CDHabitatGravelPrairie.aspx. FWIW, that IDNR website does not mention Bell Bowl Prairie. Also, the WTTW article does not mention that the environmentalist proposal is not as friendly to semi-trucks as the airport proposal, in that the environmentalist proposal has sharper turning radiuses. Yes a lot of 18 wheelers make sharp turns. But when designing a logistics facility, fewer sharp turns are preferable.
