The CTA said that more people are returning to the Loop, with 29,300 average weekday rides in September, compared to 9,800 in January, and that weekend and holiday ridership is at about 60% to 65% of pre-pandemic levels.
I have to tell ya, the CTA is disgusting. I take the Purple Line from Evanston/Davis to Ravenswood [via Brown from Belmont to Montrose] 2X per week for my job. Even the Purple Line Express during AM/PM is littered with sleeping piss bums, mental patients, criminals and other sorts of vile “disruptives”. What used to be a routine 45 – minute trip is now fraught, it’s like a ride in “Ghetto Adventureland”. I’m switching to Metra, since it’s a reasonable option. This is hard to believe. Riding the CTA is a Suicide Ride, credit BS.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
