Here’s When Chicago’s Mask Mandate Could Be Removed, According to the City’s Top Doctor – NBC5 (Chicago)

"We've been talking with the state about this," Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said. "If we could get back under 200 cases per day, the masks would come off. No question about it." The city has seen a 10% increase in COVID cases over the last week, jumping from 403 to 445 average daily cases.

“Masking”, outside of photo opportunities attended by media, is redundant, and thus unnecessary for PC liberal college-educated elites. Most be the Nespresso coffee pods that provide secret immunity. Or the Starbucks decaf soy latte grande? Or a Longchamp tote bag? Or a Brioni tie? Or Allan Edmonds oxford-tie rubber-sole shoes? I’m offering some clues…

What are the pertinent elements of the 200 cases number. Is there some reasoning or logic in the target? Perhaps it’s 200 because we’re unlikely to reach target? Maybe it’s 200 because a nice even number is easier to work around. But by all means, get the vaccine that doesn’t work longer than two months!

Daniel H. Burnham Award Dinner at the Hilton last night had a lot of elite. Mayor was there. Well attended event. Very few masks. Now why would that be?

I’d wager the staff was fully masked – have to make sure we can tell who’s in charge.

Come on. Illinois will not remove the Biden face diaper requirement until after the November 2022 elections at least. The mask tyranny polished up Pritzker and Lightfoot’s Democrat credentials.

No longer a medical device, masks are now a sign of fealty to the Democrat elite. Like a Kim Jung Il pin in North Korea, or a Nazi armband in 1930’s Germany wearing a mask shows your submission to the tyrannical leaders. Just kneel youze chumbolones.

Even worse, he’ll remove it for the northeastern part of the state that voted for him, but leave it in place indefinitely for the rest of the state, under the rubric that downstate has higher case rates and lower vaccinations. JB is a petty, vindictive guy, and he’ll feel no compunction about it after he barely ekes out a win in November 2022. You’ll be wearing a mask through November 2026.

That is a sad but likely very accurate prediction.

You make a good point … the Lords of Illinois are a vindictive bunch.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
