Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. There really are more cases right now, not just because of testing. Remember that even vaccinated get sick, get ill, have a fever, lose their sense of smell, have cold sweats that wake them up in the middle of the night, and a few unhealthy and elderly – vaxxed and unvaxxed – will get hospitalized. I’m not one to fear monger on this site but this new surge is pretty unpleasant.
If you study the Spanish Flu, what is happening now is the same. The virus mutates and mutates, until it becomes weaker and weaker, ending up no more deadly than a common cold. Sound familiar with Omicron?

The rest of the country marches on. The few states that continue with restrictions and lockdowns aren’t performing any better, but they kill their economies in the process, making more people reliant on government assistance.
Exactly. But people will voluntarily restrict their movement. You couldn’t pay me to go into a poorly ventilated crowded indoor environment for the next month or so..
The omnicron horses left the barn weeks ago. Reminds me of the Obama ‘sucks to be you’ non-response to H1N1. Too little too late at city, county state and federal level. With foreknowledge that omnicron was coming and arrived by November, those in charge willingly failed to implement therapeutic plans and treatment centers. Instead they’re claiming omnicron is mild like a cold, and advocating every sniffle and cough to be tested; thereby clogging up testing sites. Think flu-like symptoms. The virus spread is exploding, I know lots of people of who’ve gotten in the past few weeks too. I have two family extended members with it right now. You’re absolutely right about IL’s failure to implement therapeutic centers or treatment plans. This was deliberate and on purpose. To encourage vaccination, despite more than 30% of the population not being fully vaccinated according to the ever-changing definition of ‘fully vaccinated’. Obviously a responsible public health official must have these figures, so I suppose Block Club is just sloppy in their reporting.
The Block Club is a socialist rag. Every woke non-issue that remotely smells of racism, classism or white supremacy or can framed as such get’s top exposure. I only check in for the laughs like “Neighborhood plans boycott of racist Deli owners” who after reading simply expressed their first amendment rights. It’s not just JB, it’s all the way from the top – starting with the World Health Organization, to the leaders of individual countries, down through every institution repeating the same propaganda endlessly. It’s quite remarkable and efficient that everyone says the same thing and all dissent gets crush. JB is just one cog in the massive industrial complex pushing the vaxxes above all else because it’s the bluntest tool in the toolbox.
