Hinsdale District 86 anti-racism consultant withdraws training proposal, citing hate mail and hostile comments from residents – Chicago Tribune*

“The vitriol and lack of professionalism in the direct messages I received from members of your school community demonstrates a clear lack of goodwill to address issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in your district,” the withdrawal letter from Valda Valbrun stated. “I got several messages yesterday and really think Hinsdale is a dangerous place and would not be physically comfortable there.”

Natalie – can you make the realistic case that Hinsdale is a dangerous place? Dangerous for your wallet with the high property taxes, but dangerous? I mention this because it is difficult to take the consultant seriously with these kind of statements. Hinsdale is not a dangerous place in any context. For clarity, I don’t support hate mail but disagreeing with this consultant’s approach is not hate speech. I also don’t object to equity or diversity initiatives but they like every other program must be scrutinized for value add and practicability. One of the challenges with affirmative action programs in… Read more »

She advocates violence against GOP leadership on her twitter feed, then cries foul when exposed by client Hinsdale’s parents. Hmm. Me thinks she’s a two-faced political hack, and cry-baby too.

Good for you Hinsdale! Wish those making the decisions at D203 Naperville had the same fortitude. Stop bringing hate into our communities, teach your child at home to judge a person for the content of their character and not their skin color. Stop teaching people to be victims, that will drag them down in life.

Valda, if you feel Hinsdale is a dangerous place and you feel physically uncomfortable there, maybe you should take a stroll around Englewood or Austin and see how that works for you.

The Hate has No Home community in Hinsdale threw that racist ethnonarcissist trash right back to where she belonged. Don’t bring racial hatred into my town and grift off the taxpayers. All are welcome here, just make sure you vote Republican.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
