Expect no retraction or apology. This what they do.
The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.
Like Eric Adams called himself the “Biden of Brooklyn”, Pritzker is the “Biden of Illinois”. He’s going to do exactly what the Biden Administration wants him to do and then the Biden Administration is going to give him exactly what he wants. And what he wants is to be re-elected.

Regarding the pathetic Republican governor candidates, a while back I made a comment that it was absolutely pathetic none of the Republican governor candidates was even mentioning Amendment 1 and the PPF commenter (I think its great he comments on wp) called me out and said its because most of the Republican state senators and reps voted for putting it on the November ballot. Exactly. In other states elections have consequences. Not so much in Illinois.
I’ll summarize for those without the time to listen. Elections are not going to fix Illinois. Maybe…just maybe when the state hits rock bottom then changes can occur. Until then, things will only get worse. If you are in the mood for a futile fight then stick around, otherwise move out of state.

Perfect comparison. This frog jumped out 6 months ago with no regrets. Water getting too hot. Crime, mandates, and probability of re-election of same idiots has only made it worse

How so? My guess is Pritzker really wants Durbin’s seat – much easier job.
The “get up and move” narrative is really tiresome. If you are one of the lucky few that can pack up and move, leave behind friends and family every time politics upsets you then that’s great. For the rest of us it’s not feasible and completely nonsensical.

There’s an adage that few things worse than a red voter stuck in a blue state.
At what point have you had enough? Property taxes bleeding you dry? Loss of personal freedoms? Watching politicians fattening themselves? Show some spine to your friends and family. Those of us who have left have no regrets. Can go back to see family, new friends are easy to make, we’ve all left for the same reasons. We’ve had family come down and congratulate us and realize if we can do it, so can they.
The peasant revolt that just flared up as a result of Judge Grischow’s order is looking more and more like a last stand in the culture wars. The tide might be turning against the progressives as normie democrats are looking to fight back and even BIPOC voters are getting angry at the terrible return on their 99%+ democrat voting rate. We’ll see if this continues and whether change will come. it’s an uphill battle but not impossible.
