Rich Miller: Legislators must act now on masks – Herald & Review (Decatur)

"The Illinois Supreme Court must finally step in. Legislators need to know whether they have to adjust the statutes going forward or if the ones on the books are adequate and merely misinterpreted by a circuit court judge."

Miller – political hack of the century.

Miller – bought & paid for by Freddie Pritzker. “He who pays the piper plays the tune”

Miller – please disclose your sources of funding to ensure no conflict of interests.

He has been way, way, way behind the curve on this. Even on the politics of it. That’s the price of being a mouthpiece for the Springfield establishment.

Jb’s legal argument is that the IEMA law gives the executive branch nearly unlimited authority, almost king like power, to issue executive orders and edits for however he wishes, for however long he wants, for any reason he wants, without court review, while he alone can declare an emergency.

It’s a loser argument and it’s going nowhere. And it just gives ammunition to the IL GOP to call him a tyrant.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
