Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. As tragic as the war in Ukraine is, my first thought is always what is best for America and her citizens? (Though I was at odds with President Trump over his behavior, I applauded his ‘America First’ attitude and policies.) Next thought: is it best for the world that two nuclear powers go toe-to-toe in a war? US media and govt have lied continuously to us about everything for 6+ years now.
But on Ukraine they’re telling the truth?
Two things can be simultaneously true. 1) Putin is corrupt scum desiring expansion of Russian power and 2) our western elites are corrupt scum diverting your attention from how badly they’re screwing you economically.
If you’ve somehow found yourself sharing the same opinion of Ukraine as the global megacorporations, academia, the Democrat party, the US State Dept and the cult of LGBTQ+:
