Column: Old politicians aren’t interested in changing old habits – Champaign News-Gazette*

Jim Dey: "The answer is that a powerbroker is a powerbroker. These men (Ed Burke, age 78, and Mike MAdigan, age 79) may have been well into old age when indicted. But that doesn’t mean that they see themselves — or are willing to be seen by others — as has-beens."

Two power hungry and greedy old men will be fighting to remain free the last few years of their pathetic lives. Kind of warms the heart.

Much of politics is a bunch of old folks who refuse to get out of the way: Preckwinkle is in her 70’s, Jesse White is almost 90 years old, Madigan, Burke, and plenty of other bureaucrats in positions of power are way past their expiration date. Our government at all levels is full of Tony Fauci’s who refuse to retire and get out of the way for younger people to move up.

Biden, Pelosi and Feinstein are all showing serious signs of mental capacity decline. I’m sure there are plenty on the right as well. It is not okay.
