Going across the border to Wisconsin if your close will save you much more. Last year I went to Missouri and at the St. Louis Sam’s Club the gas lines were long but organized by employees. Did not have to wait long. Gas was at least 60 cent cheaper and most cars I saw were from Illinois. In the store sales tax was 11.679% so I skipped shopping there. Beloit tax is 5.5%

$0.02 cents a gallon tax delayed equals $2.00 total on 100 gallons of gas purchased. At today’s prices you could almost buy 1/2 gallon. WOW!
