Combating Chicago crime: Volunteers to patrol Red Line trains Friday – FOX32 (Chicago)

Talking to reporters at the Red Line’s 35th Street/Bronzeville platform across from Guaranteed Rate Field, activist Tio Hardiman said rising crime on CTA trains demanded action from community groups and called on Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the Chicago Police Department to collaborate with volunteer patrols.

When I rode the CTA in the 1980’s, the Guardian Angels were always a welcome sight.

This may be the first baby step toward vigilante justice. The police are trying to do their jobs but the woke justice system is not supporting them. Our judges and prosecutors have miserably failed us. Our justice system is broken and it is inevitable that vigilante justice will rise to take its place. Thanks a lot, Kim and Tim. This is not the path to follow. For historical precedent, research San Francisco’s Committee of Vigilance

That’s an interesting read on the SFO Vigilance Committee. Step one toward extrajudicial killings, establishing Vigilante forces. Step two identify warlords to replace legacy government.

Step 4: Leave the Chicagoland area … soon!

In a recent John Kass podcast, Paul Vallas stated that 16% of Chicagoans are middle class.

As the wealthy and middle class abandon Chicago along with high-end retail, who is going to pay the taxes to support the poor in Chicago?

Politicians stink when it comes to money management. Perhaps we should elect some candidates who reconcile their own checking accounts. That would be a positive move.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
