Some Chicagoans skeptical of mayor’s gas, CTA giveaway, but say it’ll make a difference – Chicago Tribune*

For more than 20 years, Roseland resident Willie Tyler has been taking the CTA six days a week to get to work downtown. For Tyler, Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s prepaid gas and transit use card giveaway will provide him with some financial relief this summer. Nevertheless, “I know what she’s trying to do,” he said. “She’s trying to get votes. It’s not going to work because she’s affected a lot of people negatively, too.”

C’mon Man! Many of these cards will be sold by lucky winners at a discount for cold hard cash or simply taken away by the boyfriend/baby daddy . The same scam used for food stamps and EBT cards.
