At least 1 arrested when 100s swarm Old Town after North Avenue Beach ‘takeover’ – CWB Chicago

Wednesday’s “North Ave Beach Takeover” was promoted with social media posts that promised a beer pong table “drinking contest, twerk contest, boxing gloves, cameraman in attendance.”

Hundreds mob the beach and the streets. And only one arrest. Geez– I wonder why the bad guys aren’t afraid of law enforcement. And the one guys arrested is probably out partying with his buddies already.

Cops are afraid of intervening because the wildings are armed. It’s not safe to intervene given the high likelihood of inciting a mass shooting. The wildings have shown they care not for maiming bystanders and children alike.

The ‘Hive Mentality’ suggests the Wildlings will swarm. Look out!

I don’t suppose the next beach “takeover” will be at South Shore or Rainbow Beach?

Downtown Chicago used to be gritty, but cool. I managed a couple of clubs on Rush and Division back in the 80’s, and was often there after thru the years for business, the museums, etc. I walked and cabbed around at all hours here and there. I have a pretty good sense of knowing when I needed to pay attention to something, and never felt unsafe. It’s a cesspool now. Woke broke Chicago. Nothing really “open” downtown, and no one there. Good luck reserving a cab for next week, much less walking out onto the sidewalk pretty much anywhere and… Read more »

Personally, I would prefer to be packing, but with my luck I’d get caught and be the “one” guy who got prosecuted for carrying. I live in NW Indiana (but commute to Chicago) and in IN I can open carry, no problem. It’s a very civilized state — and crime is low in my area.

My family is planning a trip to visit Chicago, is there somewhere where I won’t get robbed, beaten, car jacked or shot. My kids are exited to see the chalk outlines of dead bodies.

As long as you don’t leave O’Hare Airport, you’ll be fine

Inside of the nearest prison cell is a safe bet. No one is getting prosecuted for crimes anymore so they should be empty.

Go to Milwaukee instead.

Milwaukee isn’t terribly safe either.

Your kids can take in some of the sights e.g. men who were never taught to pull their pants on properly, or people relieving themselves on the street whilst grinning with a ‘grill’ in their mouth, or the use of drugs on the sidewalks, or if really lucky a mugging and some looting. Lots to see now in the Loop and further north.

Easy problem to solve. Stop running the trains coming in from the north shore

After Covid prohibition. Finally people are causing havoc without it having some political motive like BLM, antifa, statues whatever. Thats refreshing. Sure they need practice at having nice legal fun, but at least its a start. The end of Prohibition (the covid kind) deserves a few beers.

This will become a common occurrence all summer long. The lowlifes will test the limits of the authorities because they know there are no repercussions. BD Lori talks a tough game, but she got nothing. Turn the hoses on them and turn the dogs loose. You’ll see them scamper back to their holes.

There is no political will to stop this.

Perhaps Choose Chicago can grab a photo or video of some of these perps dancing on some poor soul’s car with a can of Chicagwa in her hands. That ought to drive tons of tourists here.

The Chicagowa commercials write themselves!
I would like to see the Chicago Police use cans of Chicagowa to mark the shell casings at crime scenes instead of those little yellow numbers.

Not even summer yet — get ready for another round of BLM riots/looting/arson

And carjacking is either called:

(1) Vehicular Reparations;

or

(2) Automotive Equity.

As I view the latest and greatest mob event in Chicago, I think, “who wants to live in this?”

Nothing is being done by city government because they don’t know what to do.

They know what to do but sunset laws are illegal now

What better way to commemorate the start of the mob season! Maybe they were just abortion supporters in high spirits mis-identified as teens and young adults.

You are right. This event is only covered by CWB. None of the mainstream media will touch it because it doesn’t fit the narrative but……if they were to cover it then you have written their headline and lede. The Tribune writers should give you a byline.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
