Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. 38 shot in Chicago already this holiday weekend. Uvalde is heartbreaking, but no one wants to mention about the WEEKLY heartbreak in Chicago. And obviously the ineffective Chicago Democrat leaders don’t want anyone to mention that they have done absolutely nothing to reduce Chicago’s problem. Gun bans don’t work– but let’s not let anyone know that. Right Lightfoot and Pritzker?

LL and JB don’t realize the Chicago is the red state whipping boy for bad governance and malfeasance. Tucker Carlson’s first documentary was about the violence in Chicago and how it is out of control. Ald. Lopez was featured prominently in the documentary. Virtually every conservative of any influence has seen it. But LL and JB live in this fantasy world where they don’t consume and aren’t even aware of how often Chicago is mocked, ridiculed and laughed at by every red state and conservative.
