Amount of Illinois unemployment fraud still unknown – Center Square

Wirepoints President Ted Dabrowski said now nearly 27 months after the start of the pandemic, the lack of a dollar figure of fraud is unacceptable. “The fact we’re not being transparent about having to borrow billions and then having to pay it back with taxpayer money and we don’t know anything about it is horrible governance."

There is big money (for whistleblowers) in qui tam lawsuits.
Lawsuits enable discovery (if one can find a judge willing to enforce the law).

Simply find a guilty participant in schemes to defraud IDES. Dangling big money (percentage of recovery) can buy lots of cooperation.

(Illinois is said to be a judicial hellhole, so Federal case is needed. Also, Fed is ‘holding States harmless’ so that technicality–maybe hastily enacted on purpose– can be raised by States as self-defense against being forced to comply with discovery demands).

The scope of the fraud perpetrated on Illinois residents is so great people want to know was it malfeasance or gross negligence. Well JB, we’re waiting. Will you ever answer the question?
