Part of Gov. JB Pritzker’s $46.5 billion 2023 budget, which starts July 1, included a six-month delay in this year’s automatic gas tax hike. The delay means drivers face two gas tax hikes in 2023, when the tax is expected to hit 45.2 cents per gallon.
Maybe the stickers should be the same size as the governor so people can’t miss it.

The “I DID THIS” stickers of Joe Biden pointing at the price are the cheapest and most effective political ads available. Most people buy gas and most people see Joe Biden’s awful face every time they fill up.

At one time many stations posted the amount of taxes per gallon…perhaps that could be reinstituted unless there is some sort of law against it.

The edict mandates language that must be used but doesn’t spell it out. Any business that wishes to comply should take the opportunity to amend the sticker with educating info about actual tax numbers and a bit of history.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
