Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
They’ll come from other states for reasons they can’t even fathom. They’ll turn up the clinic, not knowing for sure why they’re doing it. They’ll arrive at the door as innocent as children, longing for the past. “Of course, we won’t mind if you look around,” Planned Parenthood will say. “It’s only twenty dollars per person.” They’ll pass over the money without even thinking about it. For it is money they have and peace they lack. And they’ll walk into the waiting room, and change into hospital gowns on a perfect afternoon. They’ll find they have reserved tables somewhere in… Read more »
We are all so proud of Pritzker and the Democrats economic development efforts in Illinois. Cut taxes? Create jobs? Reform workers’ comp? Or address our corrupt torts courts? Nah. Let’s just legalize marijuana and sports betting. Open some more casinos. Encourage abortion vacations to come to Illinois. What’s next–legalize prostitution? We are starting to look more like Sodom and Gomorrah every year.
Where were this “my body/my choice” protesters when we were forced into getting an experimental injection?
Then it was ‘shut up and take the jab.’
You can’t have it both ways, folks.
This is nothing but an illegitimate excuse to get hotted up! Dems are now supporting law and disorder. The windsock indicates strong headwinds to excessive shitbaggery. November comes after October. Democratic fear smells like the sanitary ship canal. Chicago bouquet!
The last time Democrats were this angry about not being able to kill without cause those ‘they’ deem less than human, we had slavery.
Welcome to Illinois: Two Enter, One Leaves
30,000 more abortions? Nonsense. Most of those women will just have their babies and life will continue on.
It’s hard to tell from the news-photo’s, but it seems that a large percentage of the protesters are women who are well above the age of bearing children. Rather, this seems “all about” having a safe harbor when birth control doesn’t work or isn’t used. A hangover cure, perhaps. Hedonism without consequence for all (… and to all a good night). Bodily autonomy = moral autonomy. Truth = My Truth. And, of course, there are lots of abortion doctors, “health” clinics and other parasites whose gravy train has been derailed. When we unpack the euphemisms, we reveal a crowd of… Read more »
How hard is it for these women to keep a supply of Plan B on hand, for after their night of the rut? You can buy it easily. Seems like the aging hippies who are out there protesting should put their funds to good use and buy a bunch of Plan B for young gals who can’t control their impulses. Much easier and cheaper than funding abortion trips.
This will further the balkanization of America into Red and Blue states – Red States will become a deeper red, Purple states will turn red, and Blue states will stay blue. Many people will choose to leave IL as they wish to not live in a pagan state that basically worships Moloch. Folks I know in TX are hoping economic migrants from CA now leave.
Urban vs rural. Some States will fracture
Headline should read Pritzker eyes return of the slaughter house!
Those are rookie numbers. Let’s add a couple zeros
We need something to be proud of in Illinois.
Let’s all be proud of how easy we’ve made it to morally and ethically dehumanize an unborn child such that it’s not difficult to have a doctor destroy one here in Illinois.
There – good. I was afraid this was going to be another morning of me reading one article after another about how stupid something Pritzker said was, and how little too many of us who live in Illinois care.
So I guess nothing has really changed except the number of women seeking an abortion in states that have zero restrictions, including late term abortions? So all the wailing and gnashing of teeth that the media has endlessly played for us since the ruling was about what? Illinois will have to think up a new motto. Land of Lincoln doesn’t fit anymore.
And who is going to pay for this, November 2022 vote the baby killer out of office
It won’t matter if a Republican wins the governor’s job. The House & Senate of Illinois is in a veto proof democratic stranglehold. Rauner, not the best, tried a little to make changes, Madigan’s crew didn’t allow a proposed budget to be passed or anything else of a substantial change to the way Illinois was run. Cook/County controls the state, period.
JB has really lead the way these last two years with his executive orders during COVID. Our next Gov should have no problems at all governing by executive order, or fiat, to end run the legislature. A Devore AG, as the political enforcement arm of the government, would go a long way towards keeping potentially pesky Democrat Gov’s in line.
